CLICK HERE FOR AUCTION LISTING!23x29" thin artboard has pen and ink original art for Dec. 31, 1961 Sunday page, featuring 11 panels. Art by Gene Hazelton features The Flintstones and The Rubbles getting together for a barbeque. As Barney admires Fred's new barbeque, they decide to offer to cook the entire meal. Wilma and Betty are then seen in the kitchen preparing food, w/Betty complaining about how men take too much credit for "Plopping Some Steaks On A Grill." Fred and Barney enter, telling their wives to relax while they take care of the meal. Fred asks Barney to get him several dishes and pan, which Barney promptly drops. The final panel shows Wilma, Betty and Barney enjoying their tender steaks as Barney asks how Fred's lemonade is. Fred shouts "Tough!" as he drinks it through a straw as a broken pitcher is stuck on his head. First panel has "Hanna-Barbera's" paste-over strip and McNaught Syndicate paste-over appears in seventh panel. Handwritten Hanna-Barbera copyright in last panel. Margins have some handwritten editorial notations, including "Tough Lemonade" title and margins have some scattered pin holes and soiling. Back has inkstamp date at corner. Faint vertical crease at center and some corner tip wear, but art remains clean and Exc. overall.
