From this September 17, 1950 edition, titled “The Apologizers” some quotes:

“Super market shopper. She’s met a friend and apologizes for her basketful of sugar and coffee. She hates hoarders. But with everyone else stocking up, what can she do?”

We interrupt our usual quote-making to bring you this note: Geez-Louise… I really had not looked ahead and seen this caption at all, I’ve just been going through them as they were listed on my computer. This is being posted on March 18, 2020, in the midst of the hoarding reports associated with the escalation of the corona virus outbreak in the US. I also had a somewhat amusing thought the other day: with all this nesting going on, there is going to be a global run on maternity wards in about 9-10 months. I propose we call them the Coronials. You read it here, first. Now, back to our regularly scheduled posting.

“Boy with the defective sense of time. He never gets any place on time. Sometimes his alibi is a traffic jam, or his watch was slow, or maybe his pants failed to come from the cleaner’s. Nobody believes him.”

Hi, I’m back. I’m sure this boy claims that the traffic jam was “perfect,” though. I hope this is a reference no one gets 2 years.
