Sydney Jordan - Jeff Hawke Daily #H4589 - Rogue Star

Offered here is an original Jeff Hawke daily by Sydney Jordan. This strip comes from the story 'Rogue Star" which appeared in the Daily Express from 23 Nov 1968 to 24 Feb 1969 This is the Jeff Hawke daily published as H4589 near the end of the story called "Rogue Star" which ran from 23 Nov 1968 to 24 February 1969 (strips H4518-H4595).

This is a more traditional sci-fi story for Jeff Hawke. This strip shows Hawke and McLane "interviewing" an alien robot. As they stand there, the air supply begins to fail and they proceed out to the soil of Mars. Great shots of Sydney's robots and atmosphere to show how the air suddenly becomes dark and deadly.

The original is rendered in pen, brush, and ink with zip-a-tone. It has an image area of 15 x 4.25" on a larger (16.5 x 5.5") piece of 4-ply artboard. The art was done 54 years ago but is in excellent shape and has been signed by Sydney in the lower right; he has also put story notes on the verso.
