Between 1956 and 1965, James Boren (1921-1990) was a concept artist for Martin Marietta, an aerospace company later merged into Lockheed Martin. This concept art of the Titan III-C (or just possibly the III-D) was produced during this period. Boren later made his name and career in the field of Western art. The view of Earth from orbit in this painting compares very well indeed with the best of Bonestell.
