�� Robot Carnival is an animated anthology film from Japan released in an English version by Streamline Pictures, Carl Macek, and Jerry Beck Akira creator Katsuhiro Otomo was the writer/storyboard artist/director of the opening and closing sequences. The "Tale of Two Robots" segment was written and directed by Hiroyuki Kitakubo. In the 19th Century, this English inventor brings his giant robot to Japan where he fights a Japanese giant robot crewed by a team of young Japanese.
