I was booked and confirmed for SDCC 2020. It was going to be my first trip since 1997. Given that it's been cancelled, I started flipping through my sketchbook from 1997 and decided to start uploading.

I asked Charles Vess to draw Sandman's "Death" for me. He started in the upper left corner but was immediately dissatisfied with it. So, he started again and covered up his earlier work with black marker. Interestingly, he wasn't enthused about doing a "Death" sketch. Could have been the popularity of the character at the time? Not sure why.
