DescriptionA great dynamic page from the early days of Iron Man's own comic book, back when George Tuska was rapidly becoming the definitive artist on the series!Action and glamour come in spades here, with Whitney Frost, reluctant boss of the Maggia and soon to become Madame Masque, leading the show, while the looming figures of the Gladiator and the Masked Marauder (I still haven't figured out what he was doing here!...) are haunting her. And her doubts seem to find an echo in the exploding sound effect on the last panel, "Va-Ruum", that looks suspiciously like "Why" in German to me... Am I going too far, here? Anyway, on another subject, I know that George Tuska expressed his preference for Mike Esposito's inks on his pencils. Personally, I do prefer Johnny Craig's that give a gloss and a shine to George's pencils that has no equivalent! This actually is the first Iron Man story that I read, back then. Needless to say it has made a lasting impression on me! Social/Sharing |
