Spider-Man Art

This is an original pen and ink drawing by Richard Becker that he gave to me on my 15th birthday in 1971.He was actually a friend of my two older sisters which is how I came to know him.One of his visits to see my sisters he happen to come into my room as I was reading comics and I showed him my big box of comics, that I had collected from the rewards of having a paper route for a number of years. Little did I know he was also a comic book guy himself,so we hit it off as friends.Rick was the coolest guy you could ever meet!Rick would take me and his buddy frank for all kinds of adventures.There was a time we went to bob sidebottoms comic book shop in san jose and another trip to the berkeley comic book convention.Those trips were the funnest of times for me in my younger years,Thanks Rick!
As I remember Rick used part of his comic book collection to fund classes at the academy of art institute in SF.He later went on to bigger and better things like a drawing book for Marvel and launching his own comic book "Blood Thirsty Pirate Tales" to name but a few.I will still remember all the great times we had together even though I haven't seen him in quite a while.
