Description

Painting by Dean Ellis used as a plate (page 114) in the book "Tomorrow and Beyond - Masterpieces of Science Fiction Art" edited by Ian Summers, published in 1978. Later used as the cover for Amazing Science Fiction - November 1980. The cover painting is described in the magazine's table of contents as being from the artist's portfolio.

Thanks Zaddick! I knew about the Asimov book and they are two very similar paintings, but not a match. However, the Amazing Science Fiction - November 1980 is a perfect match! Thanks for the help in solving this mystery!
