DescriptionCaptain America may be the best known star spangled hero. But the Shield beat him to the newsstand by about a year. Designed by Irv Novick, this is a very nice work by Dick Ayers, who drew him under the Red Circle banner back in the 80's.The Shield had two variations of his costume, this one is the orignal Novick design.
