Jeff Smith - Fone Bone & my pet rabbit

This piece is really special to me. I wrote Jeff a letter in 1997, probably my first letter in english! :) A few months later I received a small sketch back of Fone Bone with my pet rabbit Dommel. Around this time Rockjaw: Master Of The Eastern Border was being serialized in Bone. In the story Fone Bone meets up with a whole bunch of small critters, including a rabbit. In my mind, Dommel was also there, just slightly off panel. :P
During the Comic-Con@Home Jeff Smith held on Facebook this year, I got so inspired watching him talk and draw that I pulled out the small, little sketch I got from him. Blew it up on the computer and printed it out so I could try my hand at inking and finishing it on a seperate board.
I had a blast inking this piece. Adding a background that matches the Rockjaw story. So now their meetup is no longer off panel. Haha.
