Description

If there is one artist working in the realms of comics and fantasy art, who could just as easily be at home painting a ceiling or canvas somewhere in Italy during the renaissance, it is surely Donato Giancola. This week, Santa disguised himself as the FedEx delivery man and amongst the contents of the 'sack' (OK, box) was this lovely red-pencil mermaid drawing - I think I was attracted to it as it reminded me of our last proper holiday before the world closed temporarily, in the Caribbean, when we did snorkel dives down to a couple of wrecks - saw fish, turtles, and maybe a mermaid....
