Spider-Man Adventures #5 P.7 by Alex Saviuk & Sam de la Rosa

While I've watched an equal amount of X-Men: the Animated Series when I was 5 or so, it was mostly the Spider-Man animated series that quickly latched on and became something I watched a lot while I was 10ish. That DVD box sure has a few dents in it now.

It was only later that I realized the series borrowed heavily from those early Amazing Spidey arcs by Lee, Ditko, Romita Sr, Kane. That episode adapting the second "Spectacular Spider-Man" black and white magazine is still engrained in my head.

Concurrently with the animated series, Marvel launched "Spider-Man Adventures", a comic adding to the animated world, realized by Nel Yomtow who wrote the full series and its successor. Most of the time, the artist was Web of Spidey veteran Alex Saviuk, as is the case here. Inks here were done by Sam de la Rosa.

You can't go wrong with a classic Peter Parker, web swinging, while also having those neat close-ups in the bottow. By the way, issue five features the first appearance of this universe's Mysterio.
