I love when comics and music collide. This piece was created by Kagan McLeod for REMG (Ramos Entertainment Management Group) who was a concert promotion company based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They were eventually acquired by the Calgary-based concert promoter the Union Ltd. in early 2010.

As the story goes this artwork was commissioned by REMG for the MF DOOM featuring Mos Def concert poster at Kool Haus in Toronto. The show was originally scheduled for January 27, 2010 but the show was postponed to February 2010 due to schedule conflicts. According to Consequenceofsound.net the February reschedule did not goes as planned. Mos Def didn't perform after finding out DOOM was sending one of his imposters (Doom-bots) to the show to perform for DOOM. The venue ended up suing Mos Def. The poster art was used in a Pitchfork article in 2009 announcing the show HERE prior to the show.

About the Venue: The Guvernment, formerly known as RPM, was a nightclub complex in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was also the name of one of the two main performance venues within the complex. The other venue was Kool Haus.
