Walt Kelly - Pogo Daily - Christmas - 25.12.1967

Beginning in 1948 Walt Kelly introduced the tradition of Porky waking Pogo very (!) early (mostly around 4 am) in order to wish him a Merry Christmas and hand him a gift (in most cases a flower, but in the 1950’s he brought a piece of cake on a few occasions)...needless to say that these are highly coveted by collectors. This is a wonderful example with beautiful artwork in all the panels, it has been featured (page 197) in Andrae/Laqua’s great book “Walt Kelly: The Life and Art of the Creator of Pogo”... first published December 25th 1967...
