In addition to ink, the artist often used a felt pen. Unfortunately, many original pages from the book have the problem that the felt pen fades and turns from black to purple. Fortunately, this does not affect the early pages from the first part. L`encrage is incredibly good.

I only know the first 4 volumes, and because I am completely ignorant, I have never read the continuation with Eric Herenguel. From my perspective, the first cycle is a masterpiece in screenplay and graphics. Therefore, for me, a sequel without Laurent Vicomte makes no sense. In 1981, 2 exceptional artists created a great absolute novel with all its pictorial richness and poetry. Pierre Makyo and Laurent Vicomte skillfully play with the motif of the two worlds. The scenario is extremely complex and thoughtful. The graphic know-how is breathtaking. With its numerous printed copies, "La Ballade… 1 - 4" is one of the most popular comics of the 1980s.
