Wildcats Trilogy #1 page 1 by Jae Lee (1993)

Jae's work on Wildcats Trilogy was during my favorite time of his inked art style. In the early to mid-90's, he used all kinds of cool inking tricks in his work, like splatter, deep blacks, and razor blade slashes across the art for all the white streaks on the pages. It really makes his pieces so incredible to look at. This page for example has a little white ink used to enhance the lightning in panel 1 and for Grifter's cigarette smoke in panel 3. All the other white lines, streaks, rain effect, or brickwork on the buildings in panels 2 & 3 is all razor blade cuts. It's a really cool style and I am glad to now have an example from 2 of his biggest series at the time, Youngblood Strikefile and Wildcats Trilogy. I hope to still get more Wildcats Trilogy art in the future but had to grab this when my buddy offered it to me.
