Description

So every once in a while you come across a piece of art that you absolutely fall in love with. Not for nostalgia, but for purely visual reasons. This one is such a piece for me. Gary Frank has become quite an amazing artist over the past few years. Pushing his talent to new highs with every new project. This particular page comes from JLA #21. While I love a lot of things about this piece - the thing that stands out for me is Mary's facial expressions. Both in the main image and the insert. Thanks for checking it out!

I don't believe I have ever read something with Mary Marvell in it, so I can't say I am a fan. But boy do I agree with you this is a dynamite image. Congrats.

You definitely know how to spot the standout features in a piece, because the whole thing looks great, but both of those facial expressions are just phenomenal!

Totally get what you're saying in the description. A great pure illustration but I love how he rendered the expressions as you note. One of the best at that. Seeing pieces like this definitely makes me want to pick up my own Frank! Congrats!
