Description
I took some stuff down from CAF but realized it is more fun to share the art. I get a lot of enjoyment from seeing other people's collections so I am going to repost. No need to comment/like if you already did.

This was the first piece of original art that I bought back in 2009. I was a big fan of this book when I was a kid. I stopped reading comics in the 90s. Years later I found Spencer's website and bought this page. I thought it was really expensive at the time!

I threw it in my closet and would periodically look at it, but didn't buy any other art for 8 years. This page was so good that I thought I wouldn't ever need another page. That was a very costly hiatus!

A friend of mine invited me to NYCC and Artist Alley blew my mind. That rekindled my interest in the hobby. I wanted to be a comic book artist when I was a kid but ended up taking another path. A wicked mid-life crisis turned this interest into an obsession.

I love collecting pages with artistic merit and deep emotional meaning. This is a big one for me.

Let me be the first to say that if this was indeed the onlyl piece of art you owned, you would STILL be the envy of many on this site.  And I'm not upset that you didn't buy anything else for eight years, I'm more upset with the fact that this sat in a closet for eight years.  LOL

Haha, thanks. It was truly in a black hole.

This page is so beautiful. I was upset when you said you threw it into your closet but you now reveal the amazing fact that your closet is the gateway to a black hole!! Do you have control of time and space, perchance? Does it not deserve better than being consigned into a black hole. Your tracking device must be awesome to find it but it did take you years. Thanks for sharing it again.

He's Daredevil, the man without fear.

I could look at this page for an age.

Love you got something like this straight up as your very first piece and glad to see it back here (I love visiting other people's collections to share the obsession too).

Born Again isn't just one of the greatest runs of the 80's - it's one of the greatest of all time!  Congrats on this killer page!  And keep it out of the closet! ;)

What a first page, Yo, congrats!  Nice top splash followed by some great action packed panels.  "Obsession"...I think many of us out here can relate :)  Can't beat great art paired with high nostalgia factor!

So glad you put this one back up. One of my Favorite pages from born again - that top panel feels like he is falling in slow motion... Klick goes the camera. Such great storytelling.

Only problem with starting your collection with this piece is trying to top it! So hard to find Born Again pages these days without breaking the bank. Thanks for sharing!

There are some that would say that this page comes from one of the very finest Daredevil stories ever written (and might even extend the greatness claim further outwards).

I, myself, would not disagree with them. :)

Gorgeous, incredible page, Yo!  Beautiful!  Thank you for (re)sharing!

Incredible! Love how this page opens with the thug falling and follows through with him smashing into the car, firing his weapon and the ensuing explosion! Wonderful storytelling!

That was a fine choice back in 2009. Many envy you for that (me too, of course) and would love to get into a time machine.

Time for another comment, but, honestly, I don't think anything can beat the first three words you'll read when you look at the page: "Crazy - It's crazy --"...  Each time I swing past to visit this, there's something new that captivates me.  This time it's panel 3, with Nuke smoldering on the roof of the police car, with the white paint and brutal, thick black-ringed explosion of the rocket upwards, cutting through the hand-lettered SFX and thick forest of zipatone... and then the reversed-out image of DD in the last panel as perfect, eye-pleasing compositional counterpoint.  Chef's kiss yummy, Yo.  Beautiful.
