Description

Wow!! My love for the 90s Avengers is well known, especially the way Black Knight and Crystal took center stage for so much of that run. Leave it to a legend like Tom Grummett to give me a commission that shows those two dramatically ready to take on all comers. The Bob Harras/Steve Epting run was one of my favorite times reading comics - every issue was a new twist in the story, and the character relationships. It all peaked with "Avengers" 375 - the blow-off of the big Gatherers story!

I'm dying to see a proper scan of this John, but I can still tell it's a stunning rendition of these two characters!

Oh yeah, that's the stuff, John! Look at how much more clearly we can now see the scales detail on Black Knight's legs, and we can now clearly see the various pen strokes in the solid black areas. Great stuff, man!

Very cool. I grew up on the "jacket" era of the Avengers. Not sure how they hold up today, but I really liked them at the time!
