Monarch of Latveria. God Emperor of Battleworld. Defeater of Galactus. Ruler of the Universe. Victor Von Doom kneels to no one... except his mother.

Pieta is an art theme that typically depicts a compassionate Virgin Mary cradling the body of her son, Jesus. Michelangelo's Pieta statue is the most famous representation of this theme.

I thought it was a clever idea to use Dr. Doom in the theme with his mother nursing him. In the Infamous Iron Man series. Dr. Doom takes over for Iron Man and becomes a good guy. He proceeds to destroy the evil criminals but he runs into his mother, who died when Victor was a child. Of course, Doom isn't mentally prepared for conversations with his resurrected mother. I highly recommend reading the series.
