Man. Do you want kitsch?? This is an amazing story from Magazine Enterprises' Manhunt #3 which was cover-dated Dec 1947.

Manhunt was an anthology title that featured detectives (Inspector Kirk of Scotland Yard, Jim Fallon of the FBI, Red Fox of the RCMP by LB Cole), spies (Undercover Girl by Ogden Whitney), and pseudo-superhero (Funnyman by Siegle and Shuster). Also included was Jet Black (what a name), the Space Ace, with his youthful companion, Jak Tal.

This story has art by Fred Guardineer and contains a little of everything. Creatures that could have come from Basil Wolverton, blond sirens, evil villains, and, well, blood and guts. In this page, Jet gets pushed from the airlock of his ship and falls to a planet covered in --- gold?!?
