I have been on the hunt for a good Transmet page by Darick for a while and this is one of those incredible things that you find when you start turning over a lot of stones and making friends with fellow collectors.

This is Darick Robertson’s personal sketchbook from around the time he was doing Wolverine with Greg Rucka writing it. There are 70-80 sketches in here mostly of Wolverine, but there’s some Nightcrawler, X-Men, Cap, and even a couple rando DC characters.

You can see him working out a lot of the poses and designs. It was probably an interesting time to be drawing Wolverine because Hugh Jackman’s amazing portrayal of the character had wild mainstream popularity. Maybe I am just imagining it but I can just feel the excitement in these sketches of an artist who is now drawing one of the most powerful and iconic characters ever.

My favorite in the whole book is the loose sketch of Logan smoking a cigar. It’s kind of indulgent but I’m feeling it.

Thanks to Steve Burdo for letting me care for this one. It’s the kind of thing I’d love to show you all in person when we get back to comic cons.
