Nick and Tony posing as "beach boys" for a Marvel „Gay Pride“ calendar (Aaaargh – No ! This 13,5 x 17,5 inch pin-up goodie was really published in one of those weird „Marvel Swimsuit“ pinup issues of the early 1990s, „Special #1“) ! The best thing: John did not only obviously had much fun in drawing this piece and he also inked it himself – I don’t know any comic of that period with his own inks ! Who needs any DD, X-Men, Punisher, Iron Man, etc.. art by JrJr when some- „thing“ like this exists ! Besides the fact that Tony has no neck but arms like the Hulk and Nick wears his signature sidearm even in such an outift, I love the many details: the 2 amazed beauties and the paradise birds in the background, car keys and a suncream-spray – yes that’s no alcohol bottle – near Tony’s leg. And of course the million single hairs drawn on both heroes :).
