His offbeat art on Batman was definitely a breakthrough work combining street level influences with Pope's own personal and radical approach. The result of which are pages like this that continue to inspire his contemporaries and dazzle readers!
Batman 100 is easily one of the best Batman one-shots. The story was groundbreaking, as was Pope's art!
It's great how he drew the figures so far from centered in the last 2 panels. Pope's composition, staging, and textures are so good!
