DescriptionGENERATION X #1 art page!!!!!This X book came out during my primetime youth for collecting comics. I absolutely loved the foil shiny cover and seeing this new team of mutants gather for the neXt GENERATION of X-people. This page features so many great comic pieces for my checklist. It’s my first piece of Chris Bachalo art, who had his hands all over a variety of X books. It’s got the whole team gathered (except for Skin), including a character who first appeared in this issue, Chamber (Jonothon Starsmore) coming down the stairs in the top left panel. It also features the fantastic center piece design of an old favorite of mine, Gateway, who rarely if at all ever speaks, saying PENANCE for the first time. Penance referring to husk type mutant body that was known to inhabit the essence of Monet “M” and her sisters. Monet/Penance seems to be making a comeback in X-Corp. And most X-citedly it’s my first GENERATION X comic art page from the main series. Social/Sharing |

Glossy interiors did wonders for Bachalo's deep use of black and crosshatching textures! But this black and white image reveals more details than the published page will allow!

Oh, the days of chromium covers! This was a fun series, and Bachalo shined on it.

Nice example from a great looking first issue all of us look fondly back on! Before Bachalo went more stylized and I can say I'm a fan of both the before and after. Love how Gateway is breaking panel there. Congrats!
