Immense and impressive 50.25x74" by 3" deep custom matte black wood frame houses acrylic on canvas original art by artist Nicole Petrillo, who has been a painter and muralist for over 20 years since receiving her degree and is now creating individual paintings which recreate comic books covers as well as paintings that capture the beautiful artwork and packaging of the classic toys from years gone by. Petrillo's art faithfully recreates and pays homage to the front cover of the 35¢ variant of Star Wars #4, published by Marvel Comics in Oct. 1977, the fourth part in Marvel's adaptation of George Lucas' iconic Star Wars. Cover depicts Obi-Wan Kenobi swinging lightsaber and warning Luke Skywalker against firing blaster at large looming image of Darth Vader as Princess Leia cowers behind Luke. Featuring the same striking color palette as used on the original comic book cover, this presents a visually powerful piece and makes for a one-of-a-kind work of art. NM and ready for display. Created April 2021 and signed by the artist on canvas back (w/addition of date and "Star Wars 1" notation), this original art would easily become the centerpiece of any Star Wars collection. This painting was done exclusively for Hake's Auctions and is never to be duplicated by the artist. Due to size of this item, shipping charges may be substantial.
