That close-up photo is amazing. Almost makes me feel like I'm standing in front of the painting. Such a great piece. If you had not included the top portion, I still would have seen the bottom portion as a complete image. So interesting that the piece is done in two halves. For me, the top portion almost seems like a brilliant afterthought. But I really think the image works just as well with or without the top half. You have such a ridiculous Hale collection. Thanks so much for sharing with all of us less fortunate.
Not only is character shown in the wrinkles of the face, but also the out of the dryer shirt, the well weathered arms, and of course the bad hair. It actually adds a lot with the top piece going up so high to reference the previous works where he flies through the air.
Man each one you get is better and better! Going to be hard to top these recent acquisitions! Love all the detail shots.
A true STUNNER ! !
The hand to the temple, the shadow coming out the other side. Hale brilliance. Congrats !
That's so good! Love the hands especially, but every square inch is terrific. Amazing expression, cloud, and hair design as well, of course. This must be bracing in person. Thanks for posting!
I've seen a lot of JBH, but this is something special!!!🔝👌
I like it. I'm generally partial to the Badhiars with robots in them, but Phil has been making them more "minimal" in each successive painting for some time-- until we are here-- Still a very nice one, though. Congrats.
A super awesome Grail painting!
Awesome
One of my favorites.
