I recently picked up this beautiful original art splash piece (page 1) by Ed McGuinness, featuring Marvel�s first hero, Namor, the Sub-Mariner.

The detail on this splash is really something you need to see in person to fully appreciate. This gorgeous piece is a tribute to Jack Kirby�s work on the 1st page of Fantastic Four Annual 1.

Subby knows how to make a grand entrance! Like a royal ceremonial procession, he wants to be seen and command respect. However, if he tries this during rush hour on a Friday, I'm going ninja on his turtles.

McGuinness' pencils shine in this piece - Namor looks the majestic king he is. Great piece!

Just took my kids to the aquarium yesterday so these turtles are fresh in my head :) Dig McGuinness's take here, as well as of a majestic Namor in his element! Congrats!
