Bruno Napoli - Disney - The Black Cauldron - 1985 - Movie Poster Painting

This is the Italian version (which was ultimately not used) of the (almost identical) European movie poster for the 1985 Disney movie “The Black Cauldron”, by the Italian illustrator Bruno Napoli. I loved this movie as a kid (it was called “Taran und der Zauberkessel” in Germany), so I’m more than happy to add this stunning original to my collection… :-)) Napoli was Disney’s primary illustrator for their European movie posters from the late 1960’s to the 1980’s. In many cases he would do several (almost identical) versions of a poster, which were then used in different countries (or at least a European and an Italian version). This artwork was supposed to be for the Italian “The Black Cauldron” movie poster, but for some unknown reason the European version was also used in Italy. Although not previously published, this might be the only surviving artwork of this beautiful motif.
