Congrats Keith!!! What a wonderful page!! An awesome example of DWJ's storytelling!!! Congratulations on such a great addition to your collection.
This was also one of my top choices from issue 1. A really heartbreaking emotional moment that definitely stood out. More than that, its the emotional stakes and heart of the series! Congrats on snagging such an awesome page from the series and for sharing it on here!
KEITH!! I love this page! Its by far my favorite of this issue! Everything you said is 100% correct. I actually tried to go for it myself, but im real happy it found a great home! Huge Congrats on getting it!
THANKS VICTOR!!!! Btw, just added some photos that i took when i light boxed the bottom panel so i could see what he changed the panel from. Interesting process moment that i figured you'd def appreciate.
Oh man thats cool! I would agree with you, I definitely prefer the final over the original, just hits harder!
Poor BRB. Great page, Keith!
The heaviness is felt more on the whole body. Rather than strain to keep his head up, he gives in to bury his face down.
Exactly! 😊
Oof, such a brutal moment - but an excellent page! Congrats Keith!
I love this page! Great pickup, Keith! Every panel has something to get excited about.
We did good bro... we did good 😎
That third panel is raw emotion that only DWJ can pull off. And I love the extra forensics work you did to see what's under the paste up. Always cool to know what the first pass was. Like others have said, I think he made the right choice with his changes. So happy for you, Keith! Huge congrats!
congrats on snagging this page! it is a great page - and was on the list of rejections that I got too! lol
Unique and spectacular page from this outstanding series! DWJ is as good at these heart-wrenching scenes and quiet moments as his with the action and mayem. The storytelling is perfect. Thanks for posting what you uncovered beneath that bottom panel!
Bill's not blind but apparently Keith is, atleast slightly XD
The man in the mirror.
The first panel might steal the scene, but what makes this page special - in my opinion - is what's depicted in panels 2-4. The changes in focal length, the expressions, and the quick pace all set up the emotional devastation that's showcased in the fifth panel. Congrats on the amazing page!
The story telling on this page is masterful. It hits so hard the awkwardness in the first 3 panels flowing into the complete and utter sorrow, and sif staring down the hall as he slumps away. So great!
Incredibly touching scene. So DWJ. A++ lighting, storytelling and character acting. This is the one! Huge congrats!
Amazing page..huge congrats
Fabulous page! Daniel Warren Johnson is amazing! He's already a master of the medium.
Gorgeous DWJ page! Congrats on picking up the whole issue too!
Fantastic!
DWJ BRB pages are absolute artistic gold, and you hit the jackpot with this masterful page. It packs quite the emotional punch.
Thanks man! It really does! It's pure DWJ doing what he does best!
