I really like his tight pencils. Archangel looks great! I can't deny however, that I really dislike it when pencillers leave the backgrounds so empty that the colorist has to come in and fill them up with so many digital coloring effects.
This is such a dynamic page, it doesn't need the word balloons to tell a story. A great piece!
The superdetail and blank background causes a forced focus and Foreman relishes in it with no flaws to hide.
Really impressive pencils! And I feel bad for that dude cuz there was no getting out of that situation in one piece. Huge congrats!
"The sign says no door-to-door salesman..." SCHLUNK! I'm very much on your page about not needing the gore to successfully pull off this scene. Letting the readers imagination fill in the gaps draws them in much more than simply telling. Great point, and cool Angel page. Congrats!
Warren's empire all started from a small barbershop on the corner. "Razor Cuts"
I REALLY love this page, F M. I don't think it suffers one whit from the lack of backgrounds, but functions like one of those shots in movies that isolates the foreground action to underscore the moment. As you pointed out, the predation factor on this one is off the charts, and Warren is simultaneously raising up to strike, while hypnotizing and wrapping his prey in his (metaphorical) coils here. All while he is as cold-blooded as can be, more machine than man - twisted and evil... (no, wait, that's Vader...). Beautiful pick up, F M!
This truly is a great page - I was a little late in trying to nab it myself. Love the pencil rendering, and the storytelling through 3 splashes is top notch. Cold blooded Warren. Congrats!
This really is a great and memorable page from this annual, I really enjoyed the original team getting back together. Congrats!
