Description

When Hell-Rider starred in his own black-and-white magazine published by Skywald Publications, it only lasted two issues. That's not a lot of material to mine from to use for the Heroes Redrawn treatment. So, in order to keep it going, you have to get innovative. So, I decided to incorporate HR into the Marvel Universe for this one.

I decided to take a page from an old issue of New Thunderbolts that took place during their "Dark Reign" period. This particular page features the American Eagle being confronted by Daredevil's old foe, Bullseye. I decided to replace the Eagle with Hell-Rider, and after seeing how it came out, I'd love to see the Rider and Bullseye slug it out for an entire issue.

To make it happen, I returned to one of my favorite go-to artists. Eric Koda has done over half a dozen commissions for me, and he really outdid himself on this page. Panel one alone was worth the price of admission. Eric, whose credits include such titles as X-Men: To Serve and Protect and Avengers: Secret Empire, is one of the best kept secrets in commissioned art. If you're looking for dynamite work, service, and pricing, you can't go wrong with Eric.

Fascinating and imaginative! The street alleys in Hell's Kitchen can only contain so much action!

What a great page, the reuse of the Bullseye circle logo, in the bike tire, in the target, and then finally in the last panel with the juxtaposition of both characters facing each other - just such a well designed page. Well done on this pick up!
