The Dregs 1 / TPB Cover

From Black Mask Studios, The Dregs dives into the streets of Vancouver, BC and the extreme poverty that can be witnessed near East Hastings while the super rich buy up property, gentrify neighborhoods, and feed (both figuratively and literally) off the suffering of those struggling with addiction and homelessness. This book came out a few years ago, so I was pleasantly surprised to see three of the covers pop up for sale at Inky Knuckles, including this cover for issue 1 that was also used for the trade paperback. While this is a very depressing story, I did enjoy seeing the depictions of downtown Vancouver, a city I have spent a lot of time in while playing in punk bands in my 20’s. A really striking story about wealth inequality with fantastic art by Eric Zawadzki.
