DescriptionCLICK HERE FOR AUCTION LISTING!10.75x14" Crescent Illustration Board features pen and ink original art by Gilbert Shelton, a cartoonist and a key member of the Underground Comix movement. Shelton was the creator of the iconic Underground characters The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers, Fat Freddy's Cat and Wonder Wart-Hog. Original art has been inked by Dennis Ellefson and is for complete one-page Pun My Word story published in DRAG Cartoons #38 in April 1967. Story has 13 panels w/Aristotle and Plato discussing whether or not Aristotle should take his car back to his mechanic Oppernockety, which leads to a bad pun and a pie in the Aristotle's face. Bottom has hand-lettered "Guess The Artist Of This Strip And Pete Millar Will Award A Very Generous Prize" notation. Page number/editorial notation at lower right. Artboard has some corner tip wear at bottom but o/w art remains clean and Exc. Back of artboard has Shelton's personal inkstamp and handwritten laughter. From the Archives of Publisher Pete Millar.
