X-23 by Michael DeNicola (NYCC 2021)

I went to Coachella for several years and one of the most fun parts was going through the line-up and discovering new bands.

Fast forward a few years and I used the same methodology to review the NYCC 2021 Artist Alley list, where I found the work of Michael DeNicola.

I really liked his style, especially the Saya illustration adorning his website, so I followed him on Instagram.

From there, I fell down the rabbit hole, finding his irreverent YouTube livestream, where I was gifted a really cool print by one of the other viewers.

Suffice to say, there was no way I was gonna skip getting a piece done at NYCC 2021.

Providing a choice of a few X-Men characters we landed on X-23. Coming back the next day, I was handed this imaginative & awesome take on the character. Turns out, this was the 2nd rendition, as he wasn't pleased with the first.
