Breathe it all in Batman, it will help you get the drop on the drop like it has for mee!!!
Skilled mastery presenting the nightmare of criminals. Batman is coming at you like Bo Jackson in Tecmo Bowl!

Wonderful end to this 3 page sequence. I always enjoy same zize, all horizontal panel layouts. I really wish DC would give readers more credit though and go back to assuming that readers with an average age in their 40's are indeed quite capable of suspending their disbelief, and return to drawing Batmal in the classic costume. I cannot stand looking at him when he's drawn with S.W.A.T. Team body armour. The costume is too busy with too many lines and speaking for myself, I never questioned how Batman can survive bullets while wearing spandex, because even as a kid, I imagined the costume to be lined with some high tech material that was bullet proof. By putting him in these bulky outfits, they give the impression that anybody could put on the outfit and do the same things. Anybody else wish he could go back to the classic costume? Anyone? Bueller?

C'mon Ruben, let the new generation have their pouchy fun. They are giving us Batman '66 and Batman the Adventures Continue for that sleek unencumbered look.

I think its a very tough sell to go back to straight spandex, but there are shade of middle grounds. At the end of the day, the armor is what Batman would have, particularly in a brawler situation as we have here. In fact when I bought the pages, there was a slight miscommunication with Bryan as I had originally wanted the page after this as well, which shows that Batman was wearing a gas mask all along (which is why we aren't shown his face clearly). When you watch the new Bond film you'll see that apparently there is no shortage of dedicated henchmen willing to die - I can see that situation forcing Bruce into a position wherein he needs to sacrifice speed and agility for durability.
