Caged - Naked Steel Portfolio

I won this very "Heavy Metal Magazine" style piece at the Hakes.com auction. It is an awesome serious piece by Fastner and Larson which is a bit rare outside of Super-Heroes. I just love the look on her face and the costume design is badass. From the Naked Steel portfolio.

The description calls this girl a Jungle Girl but she looks more like a warrior woman to me. I asked F&L about the piece and this is what Steve had to share.
"The art was done specifically for the portfolio. The girl wasn't named. I remember asking Rich to do a scene in an alley with a roof having some wooden slats overhead so that they cast shadows on the people below, because I thought that would be a dramatic effect. He took that idea and came up with the final scene, as if the girl had walked into a trap.

Auction Description

16x23" frame contains mixed media original art that has been double-matted to 10.75x16.75" and features bare-breasted and knife-wielding blonde preparing to defend herself against large, snarling ape-like creatures emerging from cages around her. Art is by the team of Steve Fastner and Rich Larson, who specialize in "Horror, Sci-Fi, And Peek-A-Boo Naughty." Both have signed at the lower left. Exc. and ready for display.
