Mary Jane Watson by Romano Molenaar

It's taken me way too long to get something of local legend Romano Molenaar. For those who might not know him yet, Romano is a Dutch comic artist famous for multiple Belgian comics, as well as work on The Darkness, Witchblade, Birds of Prey & Detective Comics and many more.

In this age where not a lot of non-European artists were able to visit FACTS, I finally had some time and budget to dedicate to a proper commission. Romano's extremely approachable, friendly and willing to work with you.

Partially inspired by to his 'Roodhaar', featuring a redheaded badass prominently, I wanted him to tackle a full figure Mary Jane Watson for me. These two definitely matched greatly, as Romano immediately had an idea - being the web swing.

Big fan of his "European meets US" art style, and the colours (in marker) really add to the whole image. Romano made sure to add some background webbing, although I had only signed up for a full figure and nothing more. Size is 9x12.
