DescriptionBattle Chasers was a great (albeit short-lived) series that had so much going for it - the fantasy setting, the characters it introduced, but of course the main draw was Joe Mad. I loved the style that he had developed by then that drew a lot from manga/anime influences but really made it his own. It's a shame that the series didn't continue (although I still have to play the game... and whenever those follow up issues come out but apparently aren't drawn by Joe Mad sigh). This Wizard cover has a stunning depiction of Garrison in a fighting pose in the background (with the other flagship characters of the Cliffhanger imprint) that I could not pass up. Such great linework and inking on this piece that makes it really jump out at you. Social/Sharing |

Boom! There it is! I remember wishing every book could look as good as Joe Mad's work on Uncanny X-Men and Battle Chasers, and this Wizard issue springs to mind when I think of the stack on top of my longbox. I always smile when there's a clear Joe Mad influence on a book I pick up off the shelves... and examples don't come much better than this. Now I have to reread the Trial of Gambit issues yet again.

Larger than life! The artists that dominated the Wizard top 10 are the ones that still dominate our nostalgia and way of traveling back in time to appreciate them today.

Stunning. Much better without the distracting additional figures of the published cover. Congrats.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find the other two pieces to complete this jam cover. As always, should any art be sold or traded, CAF will disavow any knowledge of your actions. Good luck.
