Description

As a kid (between the late '70s and the mid '80s) I was an avid reader of any kind of U.S. syndicated strips, because they were published on the famous Italian magazine "Linus" (yes, from Schulz's character name!) and on a series of paperback books called "Oscar Mondadori", which my dad was collecting back then: from Li'l Abner to Pogo, from B.C. to Peanuts, from Beetle Bailey to Dick Tracy, from Bringing Up Father to Doonesbury, from Blondie to Wizard of Id... And then Calvin & Hobbes, Bloom County, Ernie, Mother Goose & Grimm and many others.
This is a fun example of Wizard of Id I've managed to get a few years ago through Ebay, featuring two of the main characters of the series.

Two score and seven years and five months ago, Parker and Hart brought forth on this strip, a new cartoon, conceived in Ink and Bristol , and dedicated to the proposition that all art collectors are created equal.

I read the Wizard of Id in my local newspaper when I was growing up. It was one of my favorites with its darker comedy tone. This is an excellent example of why it was such a good strip.
