Description

So happy I pulled this one lately. Just so much sheer talent and love on this, the 4th page of his mainstream American comic career. The pommel of the sword has a f'in skull in panel one. The shoulder armor in panel two. The wisps of hair in the finale. Just ridiculously beautiful panel page. For me, personally it is sad to hear of his 'respite' from interior page work to focus on covers. BUT...let's enjoy this beautiful violence.

He can make the violence look epic and be accompanied by poems of chivalry, conquest, nobility, and the enormity of emotions.

The various Seven Soldiers series that Grant Morrison wrote contained some of the best artwork of this century, with the Shining Knight series as a perfect example. A truly amazing page!
