Description
When I was very young back in the early 1960's my family would go down to my grandparents' home in Falmouth to celebrate Christmas with them and my cousins.

The house over flowed with food and family, laughter and love.

One of my happiest memories of those times was the morning I came down the stairs to find a Fireball XL-5 play set waiting for me in front of the fireplace. Up until the moment I laid eyes on it nestled amongst my other presents from St. Nick, I had not known it existed but if I had, it would have been the thing I most wanted in the world.

I also have a clear memory of going out to the kitchen and seeing the box for the play set leaning beside the trash barrel and wondering to myself why Santa Claus had thrown it away here, rather than taking it with him on his sleigh.

A big thanks to Craig for bringing this wonderful memory to life.

Fondly remembered childhood memories are reinforced by the holidays!  My favorite was just decorating my first tree as my family had just moved from an apartment that did not have room for one.

I had a Fireball XL-5. The nosecone is detachable and the upper hatch opens to access two hoverbikes. The side doors of the main body flipped down and each held a spring-fired missile. It was a great toy.

Beautiful deal of a piece and the story combined makes this piece seem magical. Congrats
