Description

This incomparable Mike Manomivibul created this piece for the cover of my sci-fi romance anthology Speculative Relationships. The project was a labor of love by myself and Scott Kroll, spanning 3 volumes and featuring some of the first published work by artists like Daniel Warren Johnson, Isabella Rotman, Liam Cobb and more.
Mike's use of inkwash and his ability to tell fantastic stories in a single image made him the perfect fit for this cover. He was amazing to work with and knocked it out of the park.

Love the use of space here. Not familiar with this artist but I will be now. Congrats for this sweet piece!

The wash work is impressive to show the depth behind that portal with all the great tentacle work. The subtlety on the footprints also add that trail going towards that portal that hangs in space.
