Description

Fantasia Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer's Apprentice Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1940). Dreaming about his newly acquired powers, Mickey Mouse commands the stars with his hand motions at the 34:21 mark of the 1940 Disney classic movie Fantasia. Rendered full-figure in his Sorcerer's Apprentice outfit, Mickey measures 11x13cm (4.33" x 5.1"), done in graphite with yellow and green pencils on 37x27cm (15" x 11") field 5-peghole paper numbered 32 in the lower right. It bears director notes to the right of the image. The animation drawing shows some toning and light handling wear from production use. The lot is in Very Good condition.

The drawing is on 15" field paper by Hammermill Product (Watermark "Management Bond A Hammermill Product"). It is not easy finding 15" field animation drawings as the paper was more expensive and Walt Disney did not push it very much in order to save costs.

Beautiful and charming Mickey Mouse in his most iconic role.
