Great Kirby images throughout! Reed looks like a made scientist when lit from underneath. I actually think it's more cruel to not give Ben the option to decide his own fate than keeping him in the dark.

Yes, I always wondered about the aspect of that copy. Feels very Big Brother like or just creepy. Reed being the overly controlling authority figure (mad scientist look on Reed, as you noted) and guessing Stan would have wrote it differently today. Of course today, they would make a 12 issue series on the concept of control.
