Description
It’s a Doozy! As one illustrious dealer may say… he says it too much but this one is! So stoked to own this piece’ and it is a crazy story to boot! A gentleman had this in his basement for years after his uncle passed away, Unsure of it’s value and about to throw it away he went to a comic store where thank fully an employee knew what it was and put out a request for info on Facebook! Almost immediately the offers were flowing in.. some how I was able to fight through that and got some help to make it happen (thanks Ankur!) and voilà … an incredible Wolverine battle page.. with a Rachel Phoenix to boot! I got this comic when I was ten.. read it until it fell apart… the panel with wolverine going through the Sentinels head is engrained in my brain and now it will be on my wall!

Williamson inks are always a treat. And Wolverine, airborne, attacking a Sentinel. "Are you kidding me?!!?"

Congrats!

I know.  Are you kidding me?!?!?  Right in the wheelhouse of a classic era with the Secret Wars II crossover event!  1986... Thirty - Six - years - old.

Yowza, it is a doozy!   Crazy story to think this was almost thrown out, horrible to think of all the pages and history lost this way.  So glad the person had common sense to check into it further.  Congrats on this beauty!

Classic combat and bucket-head line, and the concern for Wolvie is touching -- but some Sentinel blasts ain't even gonna slow him!

Stellar page, not so easy to find a JrJr page with Wolverine well featured. Excellent find!

It's amazing that as terrific and meaningful as this page is, the story behind the acquisition is just as amazing. You had us on the edge of our seats, bud but it's in the home where it belongs!

Wolverine shows what a wimp he is, yet again. He gets taken out more often than the garbage. One lousy Sentinel? Lol.

This is what I'm talking about !

Im riding that time machine back to my childhood with  ya

This is one of my favorite books from when I was a kid devouring those JRJR Uncanny X-Men books off of the spinner racks.

Great addition to your collection.

'Congrats !

I've bought original art in a parking lot before, but it wasn't as cool as this.  Issue 197 was my first X-Men comic, so I'm right there with you in terms of reading #202 until it fell apart.  That top panel of Wolverine going through the head of a Sentinel was burned into my memory as probably the coolest image I had seen in a comic book at that point.  Huge congrats on such a monumental addition to your collection!

Cocky Sentinel...You weren't going to terminate anything other than your warranty. Great art, great story, and great hustle. Hat trick! This is about as cool a JRJR page as you'll get. Slice em up, Wolvie! Big congrats

Man, JRJR and Williamson were so good together! I love this page so much. I remember reading this issue and loving the art at the tine. It hasn't lost anything. It's still amazing. Huge congrats!

Big congrats, Jason.  Aside from your nostalgic memory of this as a youth, the way it came to you is another memory that will always keep this one as a collection crown jewel.

I always figured I'd be fine without a JRJR X-Men page in my collection, but posts like this have me rethinking my priorities. Great page.

Just top to bottom, OH so good!  Every panel's got something to see!  Prime JRJR, really just coming into this own, and what can you say about Williamson inks?!  Probably the best over JRJR pencils.  HUGE congrats, Jason!
