Description

I loved the first Astro City commission Pat Quinn did for me, and after that this idea immediately sprung to mind. One of my favorite Astro City, or any comic stories, is "The Nearness of You" from Astro City #1/2. I asked Pat for a commission of The Hanged Man that would be reminiscent of that story... and now I am lucky enough to have added this incredibly detailed image to my collection.

Very gracefully done as the 1/2 issue is one of the classic standalone issues of the series. Quinn looks to have an affinity for the story as well capturing the feel of the story of romance and sacrifice. Way before the a certain movie came out asking, 'Tis better to have loved and lost than not remembering to have loved at all?
