Wonderful cover painting by Tim White for the science fiction novel "The Tar-Aiym Krang" by Alan Dean Foster. This was Foster's first published novel and this paperback reprint was published by NEL in 1979.

The ship design has some fighter jet and some flying saucer in it! It is very impressive and so is the hint of that giant pyramid in the background.
