Description

Here is something I am sure a lot of people never knew existed… back in the mid 80s there was a Phoenix (Rachel Summers) mini series planned… penned by Chris Claremont with art by Rick Leonardi and Dan Green. It was announced in multiple places in print and went as far as Leonardi Penciling the whole issue (Green inked some of the pages too) but ultimately never saw print as marvel was worried about how confusing it could be with the time travel and different universes (to early I guess hello multi verse!). Really interesting stuff as I read up on it after seeing this page of pure Leonardi pencils that he still had!! I scooped it up as soon as I saw it as it is gorgeous! I even had an blue line of it inked by Mark Farmer (separate entry if you want to peak. )

Wickedly cinematic this page is. I think I remember reading about this and forgot later. Shame we didn't get this released. Congrats!

I remember reading about this series. Possibly in a Marvel Age annual? I love the depiction of Power Pack here.

Looks like it would be one of the best pages of the book if following the Marvel formula of heroes confronting each other in the first issue and then teaming up after it. Looks like Leonardi fully pencilled the page to show the power and feeling behind character motivations.
